Tips for selling your car
Preparing your car for sale is one of the things that you can do to make sure that you get a great deal for your car.
Making that little bit of effort can make the difference between a buyer and a non-buyer and can make your car stand out from the crowd.
There are several areas to look at when preparing your car for sale: The Exterior bodywork, the tyres, the interior, the glass and even the engine if you want to really make an effort.
Wash and polish the body work so that your car shines like new, take some time to repair any small paint scratches and bumper scuffs with the correct repair products (ask your local car dealer what they use and where to get it). Take time to clean and shine up the tyre walls and wash wipe down the wheels, making sure that you get into all the nooks and crannies where brake dust can form.
Polish interior glass and clean all dashboard and console areas. Make a real effort around the gear stick and hand break as these get a lot hand grease use and the small areas can accumulate a lot of dust. A good tip is to use a cotton ear bud dipped into soapy water for the ‘hard to get to’ crevices.
Take out the foot mats and if they are materiel, give them a good beating and hovering. If they are rubber, a good wipe down with soapy water will do the trick.
Vacuum out the car thoroughly, using a stiff toothbrush to get rid of any hard to shift stains like dried chocolate. You can use sticky tape to pick up any stubborn animal hairs (wrap your hand in sticky tape, with the stick side facing out) and Baby Wipes make an excellent stain remover when rubbed on upholstery stains.

Sell your car within 24 hours!
Selling a car is not always as easy as it sounds, advertising in the right areas, dealing with unrealistic buyers and time wasters can be a minefield. The easiest and most time efficient way of selling your vehicle is to deal with a reputable online buyer. As with most products and services these days, you can buy or sell almost anything using the power of the web so why not use this power to sell your vehicle.
How To Sell My Car are a leading online buyer of used vehicles and are a sister company of market leaders I Want To Sell My Car whom currently have the highest consumer rating for their service in the online vehicle buying arena. The process of selling your vehicle to either of our businesses is simple.
You begin the process by submitting your vehicle details on either of our websites, history on the car, optional extras and any damage that the vehicle may have.
We will then come back to you on the same day and offer a realistic price that is not only inline with the market trade value but also a price that we are prepared to pay.
Service history, good tyres, tidy interior and alloy wheels that are in good condition all help with the value of your vehicle. It may not see so sometimes, but a car with a good service history can command £500 to £1000 more a similar model without.
Most cars require servicing every year or on average every 15k miles. Wheels and tyres are another area that can affect the value of your car, a car with 4 scuffed alloy wheels can be priced at £250 less than a similar model without any damage.
Selling a car within the online buying arena is very much 'seller beware' it is down to you the consumer to carry out research on any buyer that you choose to deal with, you will quickly see why we have the best reviews online, this is simply because we do not set your expectations high to buy your car, only to come and collect the vehicle and negotiate when we arrive.
This may not seem like such a dilemma, surely the highest bidder will get the chance to buy your car first?
Wrong.... The first highest bidder will often waste your time, you will find that you will miss other great offers as a result and then when you get around to dealing with a genuine buyer the car will be slightly older, worth less and be stuck on your drive losing money each and every day. The key here is research.
How To Sell My Car's process is simple and quick. It really is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Enter your details on our website, we will make you an offer that when you accept we then arrange to collect your car, we will collect on an agreed day and time that is convenient for you. We then make a faster payment when collecting your car, you can then check your account and release the car. On average our collection process take 20 minutes.
When selling your car it is essential that you provide as much information as possible as to the condition and specification of your car. The ore information we have on your vehicle the higher the price is likely to be. A large amount of online buyers use a computer generated pricing tool to automatically send you a price, this is the largest cause of inaccurate valuations as the computer is set to a percentage of the trade value and is wrong at least 60% of the time. This is useless to most consumers as they are unaware of the impending negotiations and hidden charges.
Here at How To Sell My Car we pride ourselves on paying the highest amount of money for your car as possible, we truly believe in word of mouth reputation and not only do we want to buy all your future cars, we will also pay £50 directly to you for every person whom you recommend that we buy a car from. We do not charge any collection or hidden admin fee's and pay the agreed price over 98% of the time.

The Proof is in the Pudding!!!!
Why not try How To Sell My Car when next selling your car, we will collect the car from your door which alone is a commitment from us to show that we are serious about buying your car. If we arrive and try to lower the price uneccaserely, then simply send us away. We are that confident that we will give you a great service and leave you with a great feeling that we travel at our own cost to all our our customers homes to collect their cars.
Ask yourself a question... If I have to get in my car and drive to an online buyer, what is the risk for them? Nothing! This time of buying is potentially the most 'risky' for you the consumer. These businesses on average have the lowest consumer feedback ratings online. This is purely because they have no financial commitment or 'cost' associated with getting to you, they simply offer a high price with a view to negotiating when you arrive.
Ensure you read the small print!
Most online buyers are now either giving a lowest and highest price when you submit you car for valuation. This again is due to the use of computers to value cars and is very much open to errors. A car has a one value not two! Any car trade business that are worth their salt will understand that you need a firm price subject to the car being more or less as described and not a figure that in most cases is £500 apart.
Also beware of some on the more well know online buyers who have now added clauses to their terms that they will adjust prices by as much as £500 when you arrive! Cut the hassle and deal with a family driven alternative who pride their selves in not only giving you an honest and genuine service but who are dedicated to raising the customer service levels in this competitive market.
